Career Gateways The Career Gateways program provides academic enrichment and mentoring for rising high school freshman at Rutgers to prepare them for achievement in high school. The camp takes place at Central High School and Rutgers University in Newark. Committed teachers and College-level Teachers’ Assistants provide inspiration and guidance in addition to quality instruction and discussion. The kids enter thinking they aren’t the type to go to college, are able to see change and growth, and leave the program thinking about college: “I can do that.”
The goal of the program is increase the number of students entering college and decrease high school drop-out rates.
