Changing Our Community

Teenagers are our most important but most at-risk segment of the community. They are dropping out of school in record numbers, and more of them are finding themselves on the wrong end of the criminal justice system. We as a community need to do more to reach out to our young people and engage them in challenging programs and activities that are stimulating, educational, and that prepare them to shoulder the burdens and responsibilities that await them in their adult lives. We must do more to teach young people the importance of civic responsibility and civic engagement.

With these important goals in mind, the Urban League of Essex County developed a program called Changing our Community.
